Sumach Street - 4th to 6th IRRP

On Tuesday, July 22, the contractor began work on the Sumach Street IRRP project, starting with tree removal, sidewalk demolition, and roadway milling. The next phase will include the removal of the existing roadway and the continuation of ADA sidewalk improvements.

What is this project going to accomplish?

The project includes full roadway and utility improvements where needed on West Sumach Street from North 4th Avenue to North 6th Avenue. The work north of the 4th Avenue bridge and 6th Avenue bridge will tie into these improvements. Pedestrian ADA ramp upgrades will also be completed at the intersections of 4th Avenue and Cherry Street and 4th Avenue and Oak Street. This is in preparation for road surface improvements on 4th Avenue from Sumach Street to Pine Street, tentatively scheduled for Summer 2026.

Howard Street - Juniper to Bryant IRRP 

Last week, the contractor poured the concrete pavement portions of the roundabout at Howard and Chestnut Street. Roadway grading is ongoing between Juniper and Chestnut Street.

 Sumach and Division Street Pavement Overlay

The Street Division recently completed paving work on Division Street and Moore Street. Last year, both streets underwent stormwater system upgrades and ADA improvements, which prepared them for this season’s pavement overlay. Next month, bike lane striping will be added to Division Street after the new asphalt has fully cured.
