The City is pleased to announce that Howard Street, from Juniper Street to Bryant Avenue, will reopen to traffic on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, by 5 p.m.

The City greatly appreciates the community’s patience throughout this project, including during the unforeseen delays along the way. The completed improvements will soon be enjoyed by residents, particularly at the upgraded Howard and Chestnut intersection, where the redesigned layout replaces the former awkward configuration and enhances safety and flow for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike.

Project Improvements: 

The project included full roadway and utility replacements along Howard Street, along with a compact roundabout at Chestnut Street. Bicycle and pedestrian improvements were also incorporated into the new roadway design.
