Thanks to a generous gift of the Carnegie Corporation of New York , the library is one step closer to breaking ground on the proposed renovation project! Over 100 years ago, the Carnegie Corporation granted funds to communities across the country in order to establish free public libraries; in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence this year, Carnegie has gifted those original libraries with an additional $10,000 each. These funds will be used to ensure that the Walla Walla Public Library continues to serve our community for generations to come.
