The library is operating from our temporary location at 115 W Main St. during the year-long renovation project at the main building site. Hours of operation remain the same: Monday-Friday 10 am-7 pm and Saturday 10 am-3 pm. There is an outdoor book return box next to the parking lot along the west side of the building.
Wastewater treatment systems are designed to treat pee, poop, puke, and (toilet) paper. Everything else will not break down when it goes down the toilet, so it clogs sewer systems.
Toilet paper is the only “flushable” wipe.
“Flushable” is a marketing term. Anything you can flush is “flushable”. Your shirt is flushable – but that doesn’t mean you should flush it.
Do not put these things down your drain: Prescriptions, cleaners, floor wax, bleach, pool water, hot tub water, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, flammable liquids, paint, enamels, varnishes, solvents, or water softener backwash. These can pass through the Wastewater Treatment Plant and end up in our water and soil.
Pharmaceuticals and chemicals hurt micro-organisms that clean the wastewater at the treatment plant. These microorganisms kill harmful bacteria and viruses.
