Curbside Pickup Frequently Asked Questions

How do I request curbside pickup? 

  1. Log in to your account and place holds on any specific items you want.

  2. Fill out the curbside pickup form or call 509-527-4550 during the hours of 10 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday.

  3. Staff will locate your items and check them out on your account. They will contact you to let you know your items are ready to pick up. Please allow 1-2 business days for us to process your request. 

 

How do I pick up my items? 

  1. Once you have been notified, you can pick up your items between the hours of 10 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday. Call the library at 509-527-4550 when you are on your way or once you arrive in the library parking lot on Poplar Street.

  2. Pull your car up to the bottom of the stairs in front of the staff entrance in the Poplar parking lot. 

  3. Your items will be waiting on a table and will be labeled with your name. Please take your items. If you need assistance lifting your items into your car please let us know when you call.

 

Can I return library materials? 

If you are coming to the library for a curbside pickup and also have items to return, please inform staff when you call to let them know you are on the way or have arrived in the parking lot. There will be a small bin on the table in which you can place your items for return.  

If you are not coming for a curbside pickup, you can return items in the outdoor return bins on Mondays 8:15 am-12:15 pm and Thursdays 12:30-4:50 pm. Outside of these hours, they will be closed to quarantine the returned items. Please note: the drive-through return bin in the Alder Street parking lot is for books and magazines only. DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks may be returned in the outdoor walk-up bin, which is close to the library entrance on Alder. The through-the-wall return slots remain closed. 

What is the library doing to keep me safe? 

Library materials are quarantined for at least 72 hours and further sanitized before they are checked out to you. Library employees wear protective equipment, practice social distancing, frequently wash hands, and sanitize work areas in the library. 

Is the library still offering home delivery? 

Curbside pickup replaces the home delivery service. If this presents a hardship for you, please call us at 509-527-4550 from 10 am-5 pm Monday-Friday or email us at  wwpl@wallawallawa.gov with your request.
